No.932-3350 Kit -1984 Release
The fall of 1984 brings the former Train Miniature HO-scale Stock
Car models to the Walthers line. The 40' Stock Car with Slatted Open Ends is first offered in four roadnames (CB&Q,
CP, IC, and Southern), plus Undecorated. Available as a kit only, when introduced in '84, the retail was $4.95 per car.
Model Railroader's Trade Topics column in the February 1985 issue
of the magazine reviews these car kits. Jim Hediger details the three versions released by Walthers. Mr. Hediger
notes the car's Train Miniature lineage, "The kits use the original body parts, but the trucks new and all the lettering has
been redone." MR's review also notes the stock car is an, "AAR standard stockcar design adopted in 1930."
