Flat Car with Cable Reels -Lima

This first release by AHM of a Flat Car with Cable Reels was produced by Lima in Italy. The flat is a 50ft. in length and the upper bed and frame snap on the car's underframe with four tabs located on the model's underside. This four-tab snap-on design is similar to the Lima-made 50ft. Mechanical Reefers sold by AHM. The cable reels are two identical separate plastic pieces cast in a gray-silver color and actually glued to the flat's bed. In comparison to AHM's later 50ft. Flat Car with Cable Reels, that mirrored the Bachmann example, this earlier Italian built model has very narrow cable reels that are centered on the car's flat bed. The car also features the typical Lima friction bearing trucks found on most all examples imported from the company and sold by AHM.
