Bromo Seltzer
Not found among AHM's regular listings for roadnames
on this 41ft. Reefer offering, this Bromo Seltzer car is likely a promotional train set item. No date has been confirmed
for its issue, but I would suspect it to have been offered in the early/mid 1970s.

New York Central
No. 5317
AHM rostered two differently decorated New York Central 41ft. Reefers.
Both are built by Roco in Austria. Noticed the white example features separate ladders; while the yellow car has cast-on
ladders. The white NYC car also was present in the short-lived American, Train & Track product line.

No. 5274-P
One might assume this Polaroid example is simply missing its usually separately
applied ladders, however this is not the case. Examples examined for this AHM Polaroid car all omit the ladders.
The multi-color Polaroid arrow symbol on the car's right side is not tampo printed, but is actually a cardstock paper and
is held to the car side with adhesive. This stuck on decorative addition appears to be the reason for the neglected
ladders.

Wabash
No. 5274-D
AHM lists this 41ft. Reefer as Wabash, which it is and isn't actually.
The car is lettered for American Refrigerator Transit, which was jointly owned by the Wabash. The car features the Missouri
Pacific buzzsaw herald in addition to the Wabash flag.
41ft. Reefer
Wilson & Company No. 5316
Produced by ROCO in Austria, AHM
lists this car's prototype as being the "41ft. Pullman Standard Compartmentizer Car" in the 1967-68 catalog. Examples
of this car's retail include a $1.98 in 1967 and $2.49
retail in a 1977 price listing. This model disappears from AHM's ranks by the time the 1979 catalog was printed.
Examples appear to have two general tooling variations. One version includes
cast-on ladders, while the other has separate ladders. I've seen examples of both toolings for this car on the
same roadname, for example a Rio Grande car with the same stock number may have cast-on or it may have separate ladders.
Roco also built an O-scale example of this car,
which found in the Atlas line in the 1970s. The HO-scale example, in addition to being an AHM item, has also been sold
by Model Power in the past and more recently it may be found in Con-Cor's line.
