Atlas released six variations of its U30-C in HO-scale for Chessie. Three came standard DC, while the other three got factory-installed DCC decoders. All properly carried C&O reporting marks and accurate roadnumbers.

Between the major players in Chessie System, the C&O was a friend to General Electric and rostered a variety of examples of GE road power. The B&O did not own any GE power during the Chessie System period of 1972-1986. C&O bought an unlucky 13 General Electric U30-C diesels in 1967-68. By the close of the Chessie System none of these C-truck U-boats remained in service to go to CSX.
