Bachmann GE BQ23-7 Diesel Locomotive
Chessie System
No.

This is one HO-scale Chessie loco that almost seems to work, but isn't accurate. The CSX did roster ten BQ23-7 diesels. However, the BQ23-7 group entered the CSX in 1986 from the Family Lines and not the Chessie System. Seaboard Coast Line bought the odd-cab General Electrics. Chessie System never owned the BQ23-7, in fact only the SCL/Family Lines owned this odd diesel originally. Can't even give the Bachmann partial credit for the roadnumber, as the SCL examples were numbered in the 5100's and the CSX numbered them in 3000-series. Therefore, neither numbering system matches Bachmann's choice of roadnumber 8226.
