Lionel's 1980 catalog includes the Collector Series Texas Zephyr set. Lionel produced chrome-plated Burlington F3-A diesels, one powered and one dummy, for its Texas Zephyr sold as a set (No. 6-8054). There were five streamline passenger cars in the Texas Zephyr collection: Baggage Silver Pouch, two Coaches Silver Halter and Silver Gladiola, Vista Dome Silver Kettle and Obs Silver Veranda. Unlike some Lionel Collector Series offerings, the Texas Zephyr was not packaged together in set form. Only the pair of F3s were sold together. Lionel's 1980 Fall Collector flyer included an additional Vista Dome (No. 6-9588). Additionally a non-cataloged Burlington F3-B (No. 6-8062) was offered in 1980. Matching the F3-A units, this chrome F3-B also displayed CB&Q's Colorado & Southern road.
