Mantua Mark
                           II Consolidation

Mantua introduces the Mark II line of super detailed offerings in 1980. The Consolidation 2-8-0 was one of three steam engines included in the introductory group of Mark II releases. Mantua had previously and continued to offer the Consolidation 2-8-0 in its line, the Mark II was an upgraded version. The Mark II Consolidation featured a then-new Vanderbilt Tender and was presented in fully assembled form in four roadnames: Union Pacific, New York Central, Southern Railway, and Grand Trunk Western. An Undecorated Consolidation kit was also present in 1980. The 1980 retail for the kit was $60. Ready to run decorated Consolidation models reatiled for $76 originally. The spotting feature of the Mark II series was the inclusion of "lost wax" brass casting details.
