Mogul & Tender 2-6-0 Steam Engine
Undecorated Kit
No. 513 -1978 Release

Mantua's 1978 catalog included four (SP, PRR, NYC, and Missouri & Louisiana RR) ready to run examples for the Mogul & Tender 2-6-0, plus an Undecorated kit. The same four return in the 1979 catalog, but the Mogul is marked as NEW though nothing is different from the '78 entry.

Spring 1941 brings Mantua's Eightball 2-6-0 Mogul Steam Engine. Proclaiming, "Research and experience have scored again," the Mogul kit arrived complete and ready to assemble for $20 from Mantua Metal Products. During WWII, Mantua was called upon by the government to make products for the war effort. In late 1945, Mantua announced the return of hobby products to the market. The first steam engine back on shelves was the Eight Ball Mogul at pre-war $22.50 pricing with a new 5-pole 12 volt Pittman motor, replacing the original 3-pole drive.
