Four new releases arrive in Lionel's 1975 catalog for the Standard O Series. A Clark Billboard Reefer (No. 6-9809), New York Central Gondola (No. 6-9824), Santa Fe Flat Car with Crates (No. 6-9823) and a Union Pacific Box Car (No. 6-9808). The Flat Car with Crates is a new model for Lione's Standard O Series in 1975. Like the other toolings found in this series, the Flat Car has its origins in the AHM O-Scale line of the early 1970s. The Lionel Standard O Series shrinks in 1976 to seven cataloged offerings. Two new cars join the series. A New York Central - Pittsburgh & Lake Erie Box Car (No. 6-9826) and a Shaefer Beer Reefer (No. 6-9825) are the pair of new Standard O Series cars for '76. For our survey period of the General Mills-MPC-Fundimensions Lionel products, 1977 is the last year for the Standard O Series with the 1976 released NYC-P&LE Box Car and Shaefer Reefer present in the catalog.
