This site focuses upon modern era Walthers HO-scale (1/87th of actual size) diesel locomotive offerings. Walthers' General Electric Electrics, E60CF and E60CP, were brought to the company with the purchase of former American GK tooling in the early 1980s. Above is Walthers very first diesel offering, dating to 1938. The model is a die-cast metal Alco HH600 switcher.

Walthers first modern HO-scale locomotive offering was the 1984 introduction of two General Electric E60 models. The E60CF and E60CP, formerly and originally American GK releases, arrive in 1984 and are the begins of today's Walthers motive power product line.
