Train-Miniature arrives on the hobby market in the late 1960s.  The company name was presented originally in hyphenated form and this is how it is presented on this resource website.

At one time, Train-Miniature's line included not only HO-scale freight cars and its Alco FA-1/FB-1 diesel models, but also a group of structure kits and line of paints.

By the late 1970s, the company changed from being based in La Mesa, California to Illinois residency for its final years.  The Illinois-based company took on the revised official name of Train Miniature of Illinois Ltd.

In the early 1980s, Train Miniature's tooling assets are purchased by Wm. K. Walthers and become the basis for that company's modern era plastic line of HO-scale freight cars.
