This 1974 catalog marks the introduction of COX's Hong Kong-made line of model trains.
The previously re-packaged Athearn-made COX trains are reduced to the Southern Pacific
Alco PA and matching Daylight Streamlined Passenger Cars. Interestingly, COX opens its model train section of the 1974
catalog with the Athearn-made items and not their new line featuring the Hong Kong imported F3-A and GP9 diesels. Trains
hold catalog pages 26 through 35, representing the last part of this publication.
COX's train set offerings include the previously mentioned Southern Pacific Daylight Limited;
the Chessie GP9 powered American Freight Express; the Rock Island GP9 powered Extra 4701 West; the Chessie F3-A heading up
the Rocky Mountain Flyer set; a Santa Fe GP9 is found on the point of the Night Freight; a BN F3-A handles The Local-Daily
Except Sunday offering; and the final train set is U.S. Army fatigued F3-A #97 pulling the Military Manifest set.
Pages 34 and 35 feature COX's 1974 collection of HO Precision Scale Accessories.
