It has been called, "the birth of modern models." In the mid-1980s,
Atlas began offering a collection of Alco locomotives produced by Kato in Japan. This group raised the bar for the industry.
This website will let you see these Atlas models, beginning with its
1984 release of an HO-scale RS-3 and continuing into the early 1990s with the final Kato-made Atlas model, an EMD
GP7.
Also included in the Atlas 1980s HO-scale Trains Resource are Roco
made Also S-series switchers and the modified re-issues of the GP38, GP40, and FP7 models.
