The B&O roster of SW-1 switchers that entered Chessie System service included ten examples.
The C&O brought a single SW-1 to Chessie System, numbered 8401. None of the 11 EMD SW-1 switchers were on the roster in the
mid-'80s to join CSX. The now out of production Walthers SW-1, built by Roco in Austria, represented the one and only C&O
example #8401.
Athearn Kit EMD SW7 Diesel Locomotive

Chessie System had EMD SW7 diesels from both the B&O and C&O. Baltimore & Ohio's contribution
was a single SW7, B&O #5215; while C&O had 29 examples on its roster. The Athearn SW7 is C&O #5227, which is accurate as
demonstrated by the example pictured below from The Chessie Photo Archives website. The Athearn SW7 model is an out of production
Blue Box kit.

According to a 1976 Chessie System roster provided in Jerry Doyle's book "Chessie System Diesel
Locomotives," the B&O accounts for a pair of SW9 diesels (B&O #5256 and #5281). The C&O had 23 examples of the SW9 to its
credit; numbered in the 5200-series.
