Introduced in 1979, Bachmann's USRA design 0-6-0 would see its tooling shared across a number
of offerings and remains part of the company's catalog in the 21st century. Santa Fe and Pennsy are the two roadnames found
in the 1979 Bachmann catalog for the initial release. The loco retailed for $30 in 1979 and was smoke equipped. Besides
its listing the separate sale locomotives section, Bachmann had this then-new engine powering the Iron Mike set offering in
'79. For its 1979 appearances, Bachmann uses the N-scale loco coupled to an HO-scale tender with the aid of some cut and
paste photo work. The tender is the same as found on the late '70s Consolidation offering.
The Slope Tender makes for a revised USRA 0-6-0 steamer in Bachmann's 1980 collection.
