The last new diesel to arrive in the 1990s Bachmann Plus line was the General Electric B30-7. The shell and drive are the same as Bachmann's previous Plus line B23-7 release. This is similar to the '70s offering of a Bachmann U33B and U36B. Both U-boats then also featured the same tooling, however the '70s U33B road on a single powered drive with the U36B enjoying the 8-wheel drive. In the case of B23-7 and B30-7 of the '90s, only the roadnames made the difference. In later years, Bachmann would combine this offering in catalog listings as simply the B23/30-7.

The Missouri Pacific B30-7 was original displayed in Bachmann's catalog with the railroad's "buzzsaw" herald. Production Bachmann Plus B30-7's would include the "screaming eagle" herald.
