The original release five roadnames are the only ones Atlas offered for this model throughout its life in the company's O-scale product line. One interesting feature found on the Plymouth Switcher are its couplers. Notice the arm extending from the knuckle, this was found on this model and found only on this model and the Bobber Caboose. The Plymouth WDT Switcher carried a $20 retail price.

A look inside the shell for the Plymouth WDT finds the roof is a separately cast section. The switcher upper structure rests upon the base frame, which include tread pattern. Separately cast handrails were included with the engine for the modeler to snap into the frame. Horns and a few small details on the top of hood were separate plastic castings. The headlights, front and rear, include clear material, but no window material is present. The model is 24 feet, 27 feet over the footboards and weighs 27.5 ounces.
