Disaster Crossing

This item is new in Bachmann's 1982 product catalog. The concept is similar to Bachmann's Cattle
Crossing, which incendentially disappears from the line the same year the Disaster Crossing arrives. From Bachmann's
1982 catalog, "As train approaches, car stalls on track...train screeches to a halt before collision...wrecker truck tows
car to safety...train moves on."
Bachmann created this item with virtually all previously tooled items. The base and crossing
bucks are modifications to the Dual Crossing Gates and the vehicles are the sedan and tow truck that had long served the Bachmann
line. The end result was an interesting new item for '82.
For its introductory year of 1982, Bachmann features the above illustration
for the Disaster Crossing.
