Lionel 1976 catalog

The Bay Window Caboose first appears during the MPC-General Mills Era in 1976. A green New York Central Bay Window is illustrated in the NYC Empire State Express (No. 6-1665) set. This style caboose quickly becomes a very popular item in the Lionel line. Lionel's 1977 catalog includes the Big Sky Blue scheme Great Northern Bay Window in the Rocky Mountain Special (No. 6-1765) and '77 sees the first separate sale Bay Window Caboose release in the Erie (No. 6-9184). Two more Bay Window Caboose releases are present in Lionel's 1978 catalog. The first is the Milwaukee (No. 6-9269) in the Milwaukee Limited (No. 6-1867) set and a red New Haven (No. 6-9272) is among the separate sale items.
