Log Dump Car w/3 Logs and Crane Car

This item is an '80s offering in AHM's line. Listed among AHM's Operating Cars and presented as NEW in 1981 the catalog. The tooling originated with the mid 1970s Cox line. The cars are known from AHM to only have been offered in Burlington Northern paint. Occasionally, the Crane Car and/or Log Dump Car will appear in AHM's early '80s silver boxes as if sold as separate items. To my knowledge, these two cars were not offered by AHM as separate sale releases. My assumption is the silver boxes cars may have began life as part of a train set. AHM's Big Mack train set (No. 10320) of 1984 is an example of a set that included the Crane Car and Log Dump Car.
