TYCO's 1981 Catalog has a $1.00 cover price. This is the only catalog
of the 1980s to include a price on its cover. This 8 1/2-inch
by 11-inch full-color publication contains 59 pages. This is the last year that the Consolidated Foods logo is found on the
back cover of the catalog.
For 1981, TYCO introduces the US-1 Trucking line, offers HO-scale slot car racing, and
HO-scale electric trains. TYCO's train line is still impressive at this time with 11 train set offerings. Five
new accessories are included for 1981: Giant Operating Crane (#950), Operating Pipe Loader (#951), Operating Grain Elevator
(#870), Horse Car and Depot Set (#869), and Ore Unloading Trestle Set (#868). Plastic structure kits are expanded with
TYCO's Center Street Series introduction. Four kits make up this new category for 1981: Movie Theatre (#7799),
Fruit Store (#7797), General Store (#7798), and Used Car Lot (#7796).
