This Life-Like 50-foot plug door box car is a Hong Kong-produced model utilizing tooling from Cox's 1970s HO-scale train line. The Cox model's tooling was based on Athearn's 50-foot plug door box car. Life-Like, as well as AHM, imported this model around 1980. Cox's wide vision caboose, 50-foot gondola, and 40-foot offset side 4-bay open hopper also found release by AHM and Life-Like with minor revisions in the early 1980s.
