It appears that Life-Like may have produced two version of the V&T Searchlight Car. As seen
here, one is gray in color and the other is a maroon or box car red shade.
Below is the pre-production prototype Life-Like Searchlight Car found in
the company's 1971 catalog. The car appears to perhaps be a modified TYCO car. Life-Like's production Searchlight
Car is longer, 50ft., and includes a different caboose section. The '71 catalog provides a T581 stock number and a $3
retail for this item. From what I find reviewing catalogs and price lists, Life-Like used the same stock number for
the Searchlight Car, regardless of roadname.
