GSB's EMD SD40-2 was a Phase I bodystyle. The 1983
introduction included five roadnames (BN, Chessie, Family Lines, ATSF, UP), plus an undecorated example. The powered
SD40-2 retailed for $39.98. GSB added a Milwaukee and Seaboard System SD40-2 in 1984. Non-powered SD40-2 examples
were also produced and sold for $21.95 and were available in the same roadnames previously produced.
