The Double Diesel set is listed as a NEW addition in Bachmann's 1988 catalog.  The set featured an Figure 8 track plan.  A pair of red and silver Santa Fe U36B locos, one power and one dummy, headed up three frieght cars and a caboose.  This is one of the first places you'll find the revised tooling U36B with wide open pilots to allow for truck mounted couplers.
