Introduced in Bachmann's 1972 catalog from French
manufacturer Jouef was a set of eight building kits in the HO-scale line. The Jouef kits return unchanged for the 1973 Bachmann
catalog, but are gone after this appearance. Retail on the kits varied between $2-$5 each.
Jouef appears in the U.S. under its own name around 1980 distributed by Walthers in Milwaukee. Jouef made an HO-scale version
of the French Turboliner that was imported by Amtrak and testing during the '70s and into the '80s in corridor service. Walthers
carried Jouef's Turbo and a selection of kits. One might expect these Bachmann kits from 1972 might resurface in Jouef's
line in the U.S. in the early '80s, however I do not any of the above kits in Walthers catalogs that include Jouef items.
