At a time when the train line was shrinking, TYCO introduces a very
popular line of HO-scale buildings. This 'Contemporary Series' set of kits was first seen in 1986 with Pizza Hut, Burger King,
7-Eleven, and the 7UP Plant. The 1987 TYCO catalog adds Baskin Robbins. The Baskin Robbins and 7-Eleven share the same basic
construction elements, though the other kits are all unique.
The "B" suffix added to these kit numbers represents an example that
included a lighting kit. In addition to the letter added to the stock number, offerings that had the lighting kit included
a mention of such on the package face.
By 1990, these kits are no longer listed in TYCO's catalogs. Collectors simply looking for these buildings can also obtain
them from AHM's offering, see note at bottom of this page.
